Persons benefiting from the Programme
The scholarship fund is aimed primarily at gifted young people attending
the Muszyna High School and other regional High Schools in Krynica,
Tylicz, Żegiestów, Złockie and other surrounding villages. The programme
also aims to help artistically gifted youngsters from the above mentioned
regions who are currently attending music schools.
Rules and regulations
The rules and regulations have been confirmed by the Muszyna Almanac
Programme Committee and the Friends of the Muszyna Region Society. An
independent Scholarship Committee has also been created. Twice as many
candidates are put forward for the scholarship as there are places by
the Muszyna High School Education Committee as well as the National
Music School in Krynica. The Scholarship Committee carries out interviews
with the candidates, and decides who will receive a scholarship. Decisions
concerning the arts scholarship are made by the Scholarship Committee
based on the cadidates’ participation in a public concert. The scholarships
are always awarded on the first Saturday in July during the Friends
of Muszyna Society meeting in the garden of the “Wanda” Hotel in Muszyna.
The annual scholarship is in the region of 150 to 350 zlotys per month
and is paid on the 15th of every month by the Treasurer of
the Friends of Muszyna Society, from the Scholarship Fund account.
Scholarship Fund Capital
This is generated from sales of the Muszyna Almanac annual, the printing
of which is wholly financed from private sources, and freewill payments
made by the Friends of the the Muszyna Almanac. A special account has
been created for the Scholarship Fund by the Friends of Muszyna Society.
Everyone making a contribution to the Scholarship Fund receives a mention
in the following edition of the Muszyna Almanac.

During the school year 2003-2004 the
Friends of Muszyna Society received a grant from the Batory Foundation
– granted as a result of the generosity of the Levi Strauss company
– as part of the “An Equal Chance” programme, to supplement our
Scholarship Fund.
We received the amount of 20,000 PLN.
A condition of receiving this amount
was collecting an amount equal to that from our Friends. We warmly
thank the Batory Foundation, the Levi Strauss Company and our
Friends!
