MINUTES

The Muszyna Almanac, published under the auspices of the Friends of Muszyna Region Society, states that on the basis of resolutions made by the Scholarship Committees chaired by Mr Witold Kaliński and Mr Zbigniew Bujarski, scholarships funded by the Friends of Muszyna Almanac for the academic year 2003/2004 were received on 5th July 2003 during the XIII Meeting of the Friends of the Muszyna Almanac in the Garden of “Wanda” in Muszyna in the various categories by the following persos:

An annual scholarship in the sum of 380 zlotys per month for the pupil attending the Muszyna General High School who gains the highest marks in the Baccalaureat exam and takes up daytime masters studies in the academic year 2003/2004. The candidate was put forward by the Muszyna High School Education Committee.

The scholarship was granted to Beata Kuczkowska from Krynica.

The scholarship award was presented by Friend of the Muszyna Almanac Aleksandra Wołowiec from Muszyna.
The socio-educational scholarships, known as bridging scholarships, in the sum of 380 zlotys per month, payable from October 2003 till July 2004 for pupils attending the Muszyna High School who have achieved an average grade at the Baccalaureat exam of more than 4.0 and will be taking up daytime masters studies. The scholarship is co-financed by the Education Enterprise Fund in Łódź. Candidates were nominated by the Muszyna High School Educational Committee.

Scholarships were received by:
Rafał Lolo from Krynica
Małgorzata Obrzud from Żegiestów
Dorota Gościńska, Alicja Adamczyk, Izabela Przanowska from Muszyna.

The scholarship was awarded by the following Friends of the Muszyna Almanac:
Andrzej Tischner from Muszyna and Bożenna Stachurska from Warsaw.
Three annual educational scholarships for pupils who excel attending the Muszyna High School, in the sum of 300, 200 and 150 zlotys per month are to be awarded. The scholarships will be co-financed by the Batory Foundation in Warsaw. Six candidates for the scholarship have been nominated by the Muszyna High School Educational Committee.



Scholarships were awarded to:

Jan Żywczak from Żegiestów in the sum of 300 zlotys per month
Małgorzata Wróblewska from Krynica in the amount of 200 zlotys per month.
Urszula Wachna from Muszyna in the sum of 150 zlotys per month.

One off scholarship awards in the sum of 200 zlotys per month to be awarded to:

Anna Czarnecka from Muszyna
Katarzyna Homa from Muszyna
Magdalena Truchan from Muszyna

The scholarship awards were presented by Friends of the Muszyna Almanac Witold Kaliński from Warsaw and Barbara Markiewicz from Muszyna.
Annual educational scholarships for outstanding pupils attending the Stara Lubowla Grammar School, members of the Wyszehradzki Youth Club. Candidates will be nominated by the Scholarship Committee, headed by Aleksander Lesko, the Headmaster of the Stara Lubowla Grammar School.

Scholarships were awarded to:

Miroslav Pjescak, a Baccalaureat exam finalist this year, accepted onto a course at the Polytechnic in Koszyce, awarded the sum of 250 zlotys per month.
Frantiska Marcinova, a scholarship for the best student, in the amount of 150 zlotys per month.

The scholarships were presented by Friend of the Muszyna Almanac:
Gabriela Malastova from Stara Lubowla.
Annual educational scholarships for arts competition winners attending the music schools in Muszyna and Krynica. The Education Committees for the Music Schools in Nowy Sącz and Krynica nominated 9 candidates among those who excelled from the regions of Muszyna and Krynica. Scholarships will be co-funded by the Batory Foundation in Warsaw.

Scholarships were awarded to:
Katarzyna Skwarczewska, violin, a scholarship in the amount of 200 zlotys per month.
Klaudia Ochwat, piano, a scholarship in the amount of 200 zlotys per month.
Agnieszka Zahaczewska, piano, a scholarship in the amount of 100 zlotys per month.
Aleksandra Krokosz, guitar, a scholarship in the amount of 100 zlotys per month.




Further one off scholarships in the amount of 200 zlotys were awarded to:

Joanna Kulig
Zuzanna Myślik
Szymon Burghardt
Krzysztof Dziurbiel

The Scholarships were presented by Friends of the Muszyna Almanac:
Zbigniew Bujarski from Kraków and Janina Kumorek from Muszyna.
Annual socio-educational Scholarships for pupils who excel (average grade over 4.5) from Grammar Schools in Muszyna, Złockie and Powroźnik. The Scholarships were financed from his own private funds by Waldemar Serwiński, the Muszyna Town and Region’s Mayor. Two candidates were nominated by the Muszyna High School Educational Committee, and one candidate each by the Powroźnik and Złockie Educational Committees.

Scholarships were awarded to:
Lidia Maślanka from Złockie – a scholarship in the amount of 200 zlotys.
Iwona Drozd from Muszyna – a scholarship in the amount of 150 zlotys.
Krzysztof Kolasiński from Złockie – a scholarship in the amount of 150 zlotys.
Anna Żabińska
from Powroźnik – a scholarship in the amount of 150 zlotys.

Scholarships were presented by: Friend of the Muszyna Almanac, Town Mayor Waldemar Serwiński and Chief Editor of the Muszyna Almanac Bożena Mściwujewska-Kruk.

The Muszyna Almanac congratulates the award winners and gives grateful thanks to the Friends of the Muszyna Almanac, whose generosity has allowed us to fund 19 scholarships for the academic year 2003/2004.

The scholarship award winners also received books courtesy of the Literary Publishers in Kraków, Znak Publishing Co-operatives, The Poetry Brotherhood Printing House and the Staszowskie Cultural Association.
